California

Initial Certification Requirement:

Non-Partnership Policies - 8 hours of General LTC Continuing Education (CE) Training California
Partnership Policies - 8 hours of General LTC Standing Education and eight hours of classroom but CE specifically on the California Partnership for Long-Term Care

Refresher Certification Training::

Training required each compliance flow.

Non-Partnership Policies - 8 hours of General LTC Standing Education (CE) Training for each first 4 years licensed with 8 hours every two years thereafter.
California Partnership Policies - eight hours of Full general LTC Continuing Education every ii-year license term.

Colorado

Initial Certification Requirement:

Initial sixteen-60 minutes training course consisting of viii-hours of general LTC training (can be taken in a classroom or online); and viii-hours of training specific to LTC Partnership (classroom only). The courses tin be taken in whatever order.

Resident Producers:

Colorado requires resident producers take both of the 8 hour courses mentioned to a higher place. They may not have an viii-60 minutes NAIC Partnership form from another state.

Initial Certification Requirement:

Full general LTC Requirement: Non required
Partnership LTC: Producer is required to complete a in one case plan and receive a CT Partnership Certification. See country requirements for more data.

Resident Producers:

No renewal training is required. Producer must proceed their CT Life & Health license current, including all normal continuing pedagogy requirements.

Non-Resident Producers:

Non-resident producers must comply with these requirements.

Delaware

Initial Certification Requirement:

All producers must complete an initial 3 hour grooming course prior to submitting business concern.

Refresher Certification Training::

This preparation is required every three years.

Florida

Initial Certification Requirement:

Initial 8-hour NAIC long term care training class

Resident Producers:

Florida allows resident producers to have a Florida eight-hour NAIC LTC grade, or they may take an viii-hr NAIC LTC course from another state to fulfill Florida's requirements.

Non-Resident Producers:

Florida has left training reciprocity up to the carriers.

Georgia

Initial Certification Requirement:

Initial 8-hour NAIC Partnership training form

Resident Producers:

Non-Resident Producers:

Idaho has adopted grooming reciprocity. This means that not-resident producers may take an Idaho viii-60 minutes NAIC LTC course OR they may take an eight-hour NAIC LTC class from another state.

Refresher Certification Training::

Idaho requires a 4-hour form every 24 months.

Illinois

Initial Certification Requirement:

Initial eight-hour NAIC long term intendance training class

Resident Producers:

Updated February 2014: Illinois at present allows resident producers to take an Illinois viii-hour NAIC LTC class, or they may take an eight-hour NAIC LTC class from another country to fulfill Illinois' requirements.

Non-Resident Producers:

Refresher Certification Training::

Illinois requires a 4-hour form be completed every renewal cycle. This preparation requirement is for both resident and non-resident producers. Indiana

Initial Certification Requirement:

Initial Certification Requirement:

Initial viii-hr NAIC long term care training course that has been approved as CE.

Resident Producers:

Iowa requires resident producers to take an Iowa specific 8-hr NAIC long term care form which has been approved as CE.

Non-Resident Producers:

Iowa has adopted preparation reciprocity for non-resident producers just. This means that not-resident producers may accept an Iowa viii-hour NAIC long term care form OR they may take an 8-hour NAIC long term care class from some other state.

Refresher Certification Preparation::

Kansas

Initial Certification Requirement:

Maryland has adopted training reciprocity and allows non-resident producers to take a Maryland canonical NAIC LTC form or an 8-hour NAIC LTC grade from another land.

Massachusetts

Initial Certification Requirement:

Initial viii-hr NAIC long term care training course which includes Massachusetts land MassHealth information.

Resident Producers:

Massachusetts allows resident producers to have a Massachusetts 8-hour NAIC Partnership course, or they may take an eight-hour NAIC LTC course from some other country along with the 2-hour MA supplemental class to fulfill Massachusett's requirements.

Non-Resident Producers:

Massachusetts has adopted fractional grooming reciprocity. This means that non-resident producers may take a Massachusetts eight-hour NAIC Partnership that includes Massachusetts state MassHealth information, OR they may take an eight-hr NAIC Partnership course from another state. If the grooming is from some other state, the producer must take an boosted two 60 minutes of supplemental preparation which includes Massachusetts land MassHealth data.

Michigan

Refresher Certification Grooming::

Updated July, 2011: Missouri now requires a 4-hr course be completed within each license bicycle instead of 24 months from the engagement of the initial preparation completion. This training requirement is for both resident and non-resident producers.

Montana

Initial Certification Requirement:

New York

Long Term Care Insurance (Merely):

A New York licensed producer who has the accident/health line of authority on their agent license issued under Section 2103(a) of the Insurance Police force (prefix of LA), or on their banker license issued under Section 2104 (b)(1)(A) of the Insurance Law (prefix of LB) or is licensed a broker under Department 2104(B) of the Insurance Police (prefix of BR) is authorized to sell long term care insurance in New York.

North Carolina

Initial Certification Requirement:

Initial 8-60 minutes NAIC Partnership preparation form.

Resident Producers:

North Carolina allows resident producers to have a North Carolina 8-hour NAIC Partnership class, or they may take an 8-hour NAIC Partnership course from some other land to fulfill North Carolina's requirements.

Non-Resident Producers:

N Carolina has adopted grooming reciprocity. This ways that non-resident producers may take a North Carolina 8-hour NAIC Partnership grade OR they may take an 8-hour NAIC Partnership form from another state.

Refresher Certification Training::

Additional LTC Requirement:

Special License required: Special License required. Producer must concord a Medicare Supplement/LTC license. The prerequisite to hold this license is the Accident, Health, and Sickness license. Producer must complete 10 hours of pre-licensing LTC/Medicaid didactics and laissez passer a state test. A non-resident is exempt from the pre-licensing education and test, just must apply for the LTC license. To do so, they must exist qualified for LTC in their resident state and hold a North Carolina Life & Health License. North Dakota

Initial Certification Requirement:

Initial 8-60 minutes NAIC Partnership training form.

Resident Producers:

North Dakota allows resident producers to have a North Dakota 8-hr NAIC Partnership course, or they may take an eight-hour NAIC LTC course from some other state to fulfill Northward Dakota's requirements.

Not-Resident Producers:

Constructive February 25, 2013: The state of North Dakota has rescinded their 8/31/12 message. As of 2/25/thirteen, a producer who fails to timely complete the four-hour ongoing training will no longer exist required to retake an initial training course of no less than 8 hours.
